(1974)Hans A.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11328243469224993459noreply@blogger.comBlogger1125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4093327579257195527.post-65632285852807991162012-04-30T19:12:58.954-05:002012-04-30T19:12:58.954-05:00Although i really really like this movie, you defi...Although i really really like this movie, you definitely have a point there Hans: it is a visually stunning film but it does lacks the emotional response of say, Aldo Lado’s “Chi l’Ha Vista Morire” or Dallamano’s own “Cosa Avete fatto a Solange?” And when one considers character development, it really falls short in comparison to the aforementioned previous installment in the ‘schoolgirl in peril’ trilogy, a movie in which Fabio testi’s emotional journey – from an adulterous teacher, who actually is in love with one of his students (and can you blame him as she is played by the adorable Cristina Galbo), to the repentant husband who realizes that the icy demeanor of his estranged wife may be as much his own (un)doing as anything else – is one of the many reasons why “Solange” has remained one of my favorite gialli... along with the fact that it features krimi favorites Joachim Fuchsberger, Gunther Stoll and Karin Baal (is was a perfect hybrid of the Horst Wendlandt’s German Edgar Wallace series and ‘Thrilling all’Italiana’), a haunting score by Mr. Morricone and perfect visuals from Aristide Massaccesi! Oh, and did i mention Cristina Galbo... i guess i did... anyway, i still think “La Polizia Chiede Aiuto” is a pretty good marriage of giallo and polizieschi which makes it definitely worth a couple of viewings and if anything, it has an absolutely brilliant Stevio Cipriani score!!<br /><br />And i couldn’t agree more on Claudio Cassinelli, he was one seriously underrated actor... <br /><br />So once again, thank you Hans for your truly enjoyable insight!!Leonardo Tanzihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16763631636209592512noreply@blogger.com
